Lawmakers: “Census won’t be fair and accurate without funding”

Two Florida lawmakers — US Rep. Michael M. Honda and FL state Sen. René García — called on Congress to “take its constitutional duty seriously and fully fund planning for the 2020 census this year.”

The pair of legislators (a Republican and Democrat) noted that state and local agencies rely on data for planning, while businesses use census data to make decisions about where to invest and hire.
